Scrapbooking Layout Ideas – Old Style Papers

pick and black scrapbooking page layout

Some of the best scrapbooking layout ideas are extremely intricate with a lot of detail, and at the heart of the page is your photo.  If you are creating an album I would personally place this next to a simple page layout so that it does not clash and end up being too much for the senses.

Because the scrapbook paper has a lot of pattern on it I decided to stick with three colors, black white and pink. The pink on the page matches the black and white photo perfectly and really sets the mood.

chipboard letters on scrapbook page

The wordings on this scrapbook page idea are chipboard letters that have already been covered with paper. If you do not already have these in your scrapbook supplies they are really simple to make out of chipboard. You can then use whatever paper you require to cover the letters.

Holes have been made through each of the letters using a crop-a-dial. You could also place an eyelet through the hole for extra protection from tearing and ripping, however if the chipboard is thick enough you may not need to.

Some pink ribbon has then simply been threaded through the hole and tied in a knot. I have kept the ribbon fairly short so that it does not become unsightly or take over an already detailed and intricate page.

photo corners on scrapbook page

Black and white photo corners have been placed on each corner of the photo. The photo has then been mat and layered onto different papers. You could use 3D foam if you want to make the photo stand out even more.

The papers that the picture has been mat and layered onto have been cut around the sides using decorative scissors. You could add in additional embellishment or journaling if you wish however be careful not to over do this scrapbooking page idea or the photo which is the focal point will become lost.

This is one of my personal favorite scrapbooking layout ideas as whilst the page has plenty of detail and lots going on the base colors keep it simple and classical.
