scrapbooking layout ideas

Sometimes when your lost for some really good scrapbooking page ideas the best way to find some inspiration is to dig out all your bits and bobs from your scrapbooking supplies and have a good look at what you have laying around. You may well find something you were unaware you even had, that will be perfect for the photo you have chosen.

More often than not you will find scraps of paper, card and scrapbooking embellishments that you forgot you had which in turn will provide you with a scrapbook page layout that is extremely cheap in terms of cost.

For this scrapbook page idea the background is brown Brazil cardstock. Brazil card stock makes a fantastic base for a scrapbook page layout because it is has a slight texture to it. This card comes in a massive variety of colors. I have pages and pages of this of card in my scrapbooking supplies because it is handy for any occasion when scrapbooking.

The photo on this page has been placed onto a white piece of card that has been torn. Distress inks have been used to make the edge of the card look old and worn.

The names of the people who are in the picture have also been written all around the frame of the photo. It is always a good idea to place some form of journaling onto any scrapbooking page layout, not only to set the scene but so that in years to come you can be reminded of names, places and dates you may have forgotten.

Remember, any journaling especially if written freehand should be written with a pen specifically designed for scrapbooking. If you do not have this type of pen in your scrapbook supplies it is well worth investing in one. These pens last much longer then your normal pens do and any writing will still be visible in years to come unlike standard writing pens.

These scraps of corrugated card are in fact from an old cardboard box. If you peel away the top layer of paper this is usually what you will find inside. The edges have been inked with a distress ink pad to give it an aged look.

The wording has been printed onto the corrugated card from a rubber stamp using the same distress inkpad.

This effect has been made using a gold metallic acrylic paint. I used this specific paint because it had a metallic look to it however you could probably achieve the same look with a metallic inkpad or with some specialized pencils.

By utilizing your leftover scraps from other page layout you can create a scrapbook page that is, cheap, quick and easy to do.
