Scrapbooking Page Ideas - London
The most interesting scrapbooking page ideas are usually the ones that bring back fond memories of day trips and holidays.
This scrapbooking page idea is set in London. The background scrapbook paper is of a scene from Trafalgar square which is of course in London.
Because the paper has such a large image on it, it would seem silly to add too many scrapbooking embellishments to this page. Sometimes just creating a different way for the pictures to be viewed is enough to create a really nice page that is still a little different.
As you can see the red, white and blue colors used in this page correspond with the Union Jack which is the British flag.
This photo has been matt and layered onto red card to give it a defined edge and to make it stand out. You may also use fancy scissors to give the edge a different look but in this case the straight edge looks best and less fussy.
The photos have been placed behind the image that is printed on the scrapbook paper. To achieve this you will have to cut around the edge of the image that is on the actual scrapbook paper and tuck the photos in behind it.
Where Nelsons column is, I have scored down the length of the column using a really sharp craft knife and placed the photo behind the paper. I placed some red white and blue tabs down the side of the photo to enable it to slide in and out.
As you can see in the above picture the photo has been tucked away leaving only the tabs showing. Information has been written onto the tabs to make a note of the date of then the pictures were taken and where. This way of showing, or not showing the photo adds something a little different and can be incorporated in any of your scrapbooking page ideas. It is fun and adds an interactive element to your page layout.
With scrapbooking page layouts such as this less really is more! To over embellish and accessorize this page would cause the background to be lost. Using pages like this can help you produce some really quick and cost effective scrapbooking page ideas that do not force you to use up all the little embellishments you have tucked away in your scrapbook supplies.
