Ideas For Scrapbook pages - Cardoon Flower

floral scrapbook page

Many of my ideas for scrapbook pages involve flowers and this scrapbook page layout is based on a Cardoon flower. The background paper is covered with a pattern of a similar looking flower to the main photos.

This type of scrapbook paper is great because it is already appearing decorated and fancy enough not to need too many extra embellishments added to it.

If you can not find a piece of scrapbooking paper that is a patterned like the one I am using here, you could use rubber stamps to create something similar. If the background of the scrapbook paper is black you will need to use light colours or embossing powders so that images can be seen.

The photographs on this scrapbook page have not been mounted onto anything they have just been placed onto the scrapbook page to give the appearance of it actually being part of the paper rather than something attached to the page layout.

All around the photo is some wording. This is a good place to add scrapbook quotes or some simple journaling about where the photograph was taken or why this flower is important and why you like it so much.

The wording has been handwritten. A lot of scrap bookers will think that their handwriting is not good enough to be on a scrapbook page; however it is a great way to add something personal to your scrapbooking page, so I would not worry too much about the neatness of your journaling, as long, of course, it can be read.

The photos have been randomly placed on the scrapbook page using double sided tape to secure them in place.

vellum on a scrapbook page layout

The corner of the page has some vellum paper on it. This is a good place to add in any additional journaling you may want.  Because vellum is see through you will need to use a special vellum tape to attach the vellum to the scrapbook page. If you do not have this type of tape you could also use brads or eyelets to secure it in place.

Remember, it is extremely important for you to use an acid free pen when writing anything directly onto your scrapbooking page. This will make sure the ink lasts for a much longer time and will not deteriorate or bleed into the paper or vellum.

This idea for a scrapbook page is simple and cheap to make as it literally consists of a photograph a sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper and a small amount of vellum.

Of course, there is noting to stop you having a rummage in your scrapbook supplies to see if there are any other embellishments or mementos you may want to add to your scrapbook page.

There are many more ideas for scrapbook pages on the site so please feel free to have a browse around.
