Family Day Out Scrapbook Page Layout
Creating a scrapbook page layout of a family day is a lovely way to record memories and something all the family will enjoy looking at. You can even involve your children to help you make the page.
I particularly like the colours on this page as they are natural browns which tie in nicely for the theme of a day out paddling along a river.
I started this scrapbooking page by digging out this piece of family scrapbook paper. It consists or words and scrapbook quotes all to do with families. The photos that I intended to use were of a family day out so I felt the earthy colours would work well.
I drew two lines down the left hand side of the scrapbook paper as a guide to where I would then place some ribbon
I placed really strong double sided tape along both of the lines.
I then found some brown organza ribbon in my scrapbook supplies and placed this on the strong double sided tape to secure it in place.
I then found some brown card and cut a strip slightly smaller than the space between the two strips of ribbon.
I placed this strip of card down the middle gap using strong double sided tape.
I then had a look through all the pictures from the day and selected three that I wanted to use.
I mat and layered the biggest one onto green bazzill bling cardstock.
I used a fiskars circle cutter to cut one of the pictures into a circle.
I then used some green card and a bigger fiskars cutter to cut a bigger circle to mount the photo onto.
The last picture was cut with a fancy edge. Again I used a fiskars cutter to do this
If you do not have fiskars cutter then decorative scissors would work just as well.
I mounted the photo onto the same brown card that I used for the strip down the left hand side of the scrapbooking page.
I decided I wanted to place some journaling onto the scrapbook page so I typed this on the computer and printed it in a fancy font to make it look a little prettier.
The wording was then mat and layered onto two different papers to give it a boarder.
I then juggled the photos around to see what layout looked better. Once I decided where the photos and the wording would go I secured it in place with double sided tape. This scrapbook page layout was now starting to take shape.
To give the page layout some embellishments I found some buttons in my scrapbook supplies that I wanted to use so I cut the loops off the back with a pair of pliers so they didn’t protrude too much.
I placed the buttons on the strip of brown card underneath the circular picture.
I then found some prima flowers in my scrapbook supplies. I placed a brad through the centre as this would also help secure it to the scrapbook page.
I placed the flower in the top right hand corner of the scrapbook paper.
This scrapbook page whilst looking quite plain did take some time to make, but it was well worth it in the end.
