Animal Scrapbook Page

kitten scrapbook pageScrapbook pages of animals are one of my favourite pages to design as I am an animal lover. This scrapbook page layout is of a kitten. The kitten is a boy so I have selected blues as the main colour.

12 x12" blue scrapbook paperTo begin making this scrapbook page select a sheet of 12×12” scrapbook paper of your choice and cut 2cm from each side of the 12×12” sheet of paper. Use a scalpel and metal edge ruler of a paper trimmer to ensure a straight edge.

12 x12" Bazzill cardNext find a sheet of solid blue 12×12” scrapbook paper.

blue bazzill bling cardstock The blue sheet of paper is going to be the frame so cut the middle out of the paper to save on waste. You never know when you will want an odd piece of paper from your scrapbook supplies so it is always best to save any off cuts.

framed scrapbook pageUse double sided tape to place the first sheet of 12×12”scrapbook paper on top of the frame you have just made.

kitten pictures for a scrapbook Select four of your favourite pictures and cut them into different shapes and sizes. It is probably best to make copies of your original photos just in case you cut them wrongly. As a rule I always do this and keep the originals elsewhere.

mat and layered pictures for a scrapbook pageMount each picture on a different colour paper or card stock leaving a 1 cm border around each photo.

patterned ribbonPlace a strip of paper or ribbon across the scrapbook paper, one going from top to bottom and the other from side to side. Use double sided tape to hold the strips in place.

cat scrapbook page layoutUse 3D foam to attach the photos to the scrapbook page layout. Place one in each empty square you have created.

cat theme bradsUse a pokey tool to make two holes under two of the pictures and place cat themed brads through the holes. If you do not have cat themed brad you can use buttons or small embellishments.

scrapbook wordingUse a Sizzix sidekick machine to cut the wording or quotes so you can then put the kittens name on the bottom right hand side of the scrapbook page. Use the same paper you used to create your border.

kitten scrapbook pagePlace one final brad or cat themed embellishment in the centre of your scrapbook page to finish off the simple but very stylish scrapbook page.

Remember that once you have added your scrapbook pages to an album the album should always be stored in an upright position and in a dry place.
