Scrapbook Stickers

Stickers are a great way of making any scrapbook page layout stand out. There are many types of scrapbook stickers including:-

Peel Off Stickers – Usually silver or gold flat stickers.

Epoxy Stickers – These stickers have depth and a raised clear layer on top of the image.

Crystal Stickers - Also have a raised clear top

Chipboard Stickers – Made from chipboard. Sometimes these stickers will come colourless for you to decorate yourself.

Scrapbook stickers if used correctly can be a really cost effective way to decorate a scrapbook page layout.

Tips for getting the most out of your scrapbook stickers.

peel off.JPG•    When using peel off stickers place the sticker onto scrap card or paper then cut out. These will not only colour the sticker in, it will give you the option to attach the sticker to your scrapbook page using 3D foam to give it an extra dimension.

•    Use tweezers to lift scrapbook stickers from the sheet they are attached to. Not only does it make repositioning a lot easier, it can prevent the sticker from being damaged.

acetate.JPG•    Acetate works well will all sorts of scrapbook stickers. It can be used to make a peel of sticker solid. When applying the sticker to a scrapbook page it can give the impression the sticker is suspended in air.

•    Don’t waste anything! Most people will throw away the left over bits on a peel off sticker sheet. However the left over negatives can be used along side or as well as the original scrapbook stickers. To lift off a negative peel off, place low tac tape onto the negative image and run gently. Place the tape into your scrapbook page and rub gently to re affix.

accessorise.JPG•    Accessorise your stickers – If you have some stickers that are looking slightly dull accessorise them! Add ribbon, brads or whatever you have in craft supplies to make the scrapbook stickers stand out.

Painting Stones, Scrapbook Page Layout

P9170565.jpg

This scrapbook page was created using scraps of paper, vellum, epoxy stickers, rub ons and brads.

I simply tore strips of paper and randomly placed them on the scrapbook page.

I then placed the photo on top and secured using double sided tape.

P9170567.jpg

The velum was cut using decorative scissors. I used an acid free pen to write my scrapbook quotes then secured the velum using brads.

P9170568.jpg

The word ‘painting’ is a rub on and the word ‘pebbles’ has been written onto epoxy stickers using an acid free marker pen.
This scrapbook layout is very simple to do and a great way to use up some of your left over scrapbook supplies. You could also add some scrapbook sayings to the page or more intricate embellishments such as brads that look like stones or stickers that have scrapbook quotes on them

Kids In A Sweet Shop Scrapbook Page Layout

P9260791.jpg

This scrapbook page layout has been designed using scraps of scrapbook paper from my craft supplies making it a really cheap scrapbook page and if you’re wondering how to make a photo album page this is a quick an easy design to start with

Bearing in mind the size of the pictures there is little need to over embellish this scrapbook page. The pictures on this layout have been mounted in blue card and then placed off centre onto brown Brazil bling card. The reason I chose the blue is because it matches the spots on the scrapbook paper that has been used at the top and bottom of the page

P9260793.jpg

To create the curtain look, I cut a wavy line along a piece of scrapbook paper. I then folded the paper back on its self to create the look of a curtain. This can be done with any colour scrapbook paper you have. You could also create a different look by using different craft scissors.

P9260794.jpg

The scrapbook stickers are thick glittered card. These particluar scrapbook stickers were shop bought however there is nothing stopping you making your own. Again, making your own scrapbook stickers will not only be a lot cheaper, you will also be able to make them match your scrapbook paper and scrapbook pages by using corresponding colours.

All done!  A very simple but effective page layout for your scrapbook photo albums.

Scrapbook Layout Ideas - Little Girl In The Garden

scrapbook page layout

This scrapbook page layout is of a little girl in a garden. If you say the word ‘garden’ you automatically think green because of the grass and plants that would be in a typical garden. So here a green background has been used for this scrapbooking page idea.

The base scrapbook paper is 12 x 12 in size.

scrapbook paper

The strip of paper which runs down the left hand edge of the scrapbook page has been cut from a separate scrapbook page and attached to the edge using double sided tape. The colours work well with the green as the stripes also have green in them so there is a synergy with the base colour.

photograph on a scrapbook page

The photo has been mounted on pink floral paper and the corners have been cut to slot and hold it in place. This is a great way of attaching your pictures to a scrapbook page without using adhesives or other materials that may damage a photograph. Furthermore it allows you to easily update your scrapbook page layout by replacing the photo with another.

A sticker has also been attached to the photo for added effect to make it look like it is holding the picture in place.

scrapbook quotes

As with all scrapbook pages it is always a good idea to set the scene by adding some journaling or a scrapbook quote in this case the words ‘bloom where you are planted’ have been placed onto the page. The wording is a pre made scrapbook sticker, which you can purchase from any good craft store if you do not have any suitable scrapbook stickers in your craft supplies.

scrapbooking page ideas

The letter K has been cut from matching scrapbook paper and is personal to the page because it is the first initial of the little girl. Some journaling has also been hand written onto the ‘K’ in order that the, date and place where the picture was taken can be remembered.

embelishments

Scrapbook stickers have been placed down the edge of this scrapbooking page layout. Before applying these to the page a small amount of glitter has been applied to the scrapbook stickers to make them look a bit more glitzy, and luxurious. You can easily jazz up your paper, scrapbook stickers, photos, and other craft stock by simply adding in a small amount of glitter.

These stickers have been attached to the page using a strong acid and lignin free adhesive.

flower stickers

Another way of creating a different looking edge is to emboss. Embossing powders come in so many different colours you will have no problem finding a colour that matches your scrapbook page layouts.

Scrapbooking Page Ideas - Using Cheap Scrapbook Supplies

whale scrapbooking page layout

When trying to think up new and exciting scrapbooking page ideas, over embellishing a layout is often the a dilemma that a keen scrapbook enthusiast will face. I can’t tell you the number of times I have created a scrapbook page layout which is filled with embellishments and bits and pieces from my card making supplies, only to look at it, see that it is overdone and end up picking most of the embellishments off!

Sometimes the best scrapbooking page ideas are those that have been created using simple and cheap scrapbooking supplies. These are items that have either been handmade by you, or are so simple they cost very little money.

Before creating your scrapbooking page ideas and especially if you have lots of photos, you need to spend a decent amount of time choosing the best ones for the page. Try not to put too many on. I would always suggest no more than three unless you are cutting them down or doing a double page.

The background of this particular scrapbooking layout is a blue 12 x 12 piece of paper that has a water effect on it. This ties in with the whale in the water theme perfectly.

peel off stickers on a scrapbook page

The tail of the whale used to embellish the page has been drawn freehand onto black card. The words ‘whale watching’ are made from silver peel off scrapbook stickers that have been carefully placed onto the tail of the whale. You could also use rub ons or print the wording from your computer if you wanted too.

scrapbook papers

The whales head has also been drawn freehand onto the same black card. A single silver peel off sticker has been used to make the eye. The water spray that is coming from the spout of the whale has been made using little gems, however if you do not have small gems in your craft supplies then you could always use items such as brads, eyelets, scrapbook stickers or make the little dots using a silver pen.

All the paper has been attached to the scrapbooking layout using double sided tape. I find this is the best way to attach paper to paper because there is no mess and the double sided tape is very strong. The gems were glued using a glue that will dry clear.

The photos were attached to the page using special glue that lasts a long time but is not permanent. This means that if you wanted to reuse the photos and remove them from the scrapbook page you could without the photos getting damaged or ripped.

As the page has not been over embellished I feel the photos stand out much better, so do consider this when creating your scrapbooking page ideas as quite often, little can be more.

Baby Scrapbooking Page Using Cheap Scrapbook Supplies

unborn baby scrapbook page

With amazing 3D scan technology these days many people have the option to know the sex of their child before he or she is born. In this case the baby is a girl so this baby scrapbooking page had been created with a pink theme.

decorative edge on card

The most important and the focal point of this scrapbooking page layout are of course the incredible scan photographs. These have been mounted on a pink bazzill cardstock. The frame the photos are mounted onto has been cut around the edge using decorative scissors to give it a fancy edge.

tag on a scrapbook page layout

he background scrapbook paper is a pink fluffy towel with some stitching down one edge.

It is always nice to have some wording or information on your scrapbooking page.  Here I have used an excerpt from a baby book which explains what is happening during this month of pregnancy. If you do not have this information to hand you can easily print this off via the internet. Alternatively you could simply handwrite your emotions and thoughts at this stage of your pregnancy.

A small incision has been made in the strip that is down the edge of the scrapbook page so that the tag can be tucked behind to hold it in place.

The tag its self has been jazzed up using an eyelet, some peel off scrapbook stickers and baby themed ribbon that has been passed through the eyelet.

peel off stickers on a scrapbook page

Small baby themed peel off scrapbook stickers are a lovely addition and can really make the tag fit the theme of your layout.

scrapbook embelishments

To save time pre made embellishments have been placed down the edge of the scrapbook paper. It is always worth having a look through your craft supplies to see if there is baby themed embellishments that you can use or even better to make your own.

baby outfit embelishment   duck embelishment

The embellishments I have used are of course pink in colour as the sex of the baby is already known. If you do not know the sex then yellows, greens, creams and lilacs are a good choice of colour to use.

scrapbook wording

The wording ‘month eight’ at the top of the page has been cut from pink bazzill card using a stencil. I used a glue pen to adhere the letters to the page as a glue pen is easy to control. Anything else could cause a mess if too much glue is used.

To ensure the lettering is straight I used a ruler to draw a guide line which I later rubbed out once the letters had been stuck down.

You should now be left with a beautiful baby scrapbook page to add to your precious memories of being pregnant. You can go on to add more embellishments and any memorabilia of the time in question to further personalise your scrapbooking page.

Scrapbooking Layout Ideas - The Leaning Tower Of Pisa

pisa scrapbooking page

This scrapbooking page idea was actually created for a member of the family who was lucky enough to visit the Leaning tower of Pisa.

I always find when creating a scrapbooking page layout for someone other than myself I never know what colors or designs to go for. It is hard to know exactly what other people’s styles are so I would always recommend you stick with just a few colors and try not to make the page too busy.

leaning tower of pisa scrapbook layout

Starting with a 12 x 12 sheet of yellow styled paper meant that only a few scrapbooking embellishments would need to be used.

The focal point here is clearly the photos of the tower. The photograph has been mounted onto a darker yellow card and some journaling has been done around the edge of the picture.

Journaling is an essential aspect of scrapbooking because it gives the person who is looking at the scrapbook page layout information about where and when the picture was taken. It is also a great way for you to remember dates and thoughts in years to come.

When writing on any scrapbook pages always use pens that have been designed for the job, whispers ink pens are my favorite as they are not only great for writing but can be used in many other ways such as coloring, painting, inking stamps etc.

You can also purchase scrapbook pens that can be used for writing on the photo itself as well as any paper or card you are using.

The design has been scored so that the pictures can slide behind the pattern slightly, this has been done using a really sharp scalpel.

pisa scrapbook stickers

A stencil has been used to draw round the letters for the word ‘Pisa’ which has been cut from brown Bazzil Card . It is always nice to use a stencil as it gives the letters a more professional look. You can get word templates and stencils many different fonts.

Another idea is to print the wording from a computer and then cut the words out.

scrapbook quotes

The words have been decorated with small flowers, these have been stamped using a very small flower stamp that has been inked with white ink.

To raise the letter from the scrapbook page slightly 3D foam pads have been used to position them.

the date a scrapbook page was created

The month has also been added to the bottom of the page as a reminder of when the photos have been taken. Again, a scrapbook pen has been used however peel off scrapbook stickers would work just as well here.

Your scrapbooking layout ideas depicting famous landmarks are not only interesting for you to remember but also have great value to anyone with an interest in the place you are visiting so try to add some interesting journaling accordingly.

Scrapbooking Ideas - Egypt Scrapbook Page Layout

Eygpt scrapbook page layout

This scrapbook page layouts photos are of someone creating sand art in Egypt. The base of this scrapbooking page layout is a piece of pink 12 x 12 scrapbook paper that has a scalloped edge.

Scalloped edge scrapbook paper may not be something that you have in your craft supplies but it can easily be ordered over the internet or found in any good craft stores. You can also find this card in a variety of different colours.

A darker pink piece of Brazil card has been cut slightly smaller than the scalloped edge paper. Decorative scissors have been used to give it a wavy edge, however you could keep this straight if you prefer.

scrapbook papers

The base of this scrapbook page has been built up from different pieces of card in different colours cut in various shapes. It is a great way to use up some of your old craft stock and scraps that may be hanging around in your supplies.

You can cut the different papers with different shaped scissors or tear the paper to give it a different look. Inking the edges of paper is also something that that gives the card or paper an alternative look.

scrapbook paper

The word ‘Sand’ has been made from cardboard letters that have been embossed with a mixture of embossing powders. Embossing is a great way to change the look of a cardboard letter and a really easy way to make colours match and work together.

These letters have been secured to the page using really strong double sided tape because they are quite heavy.

scrapbooking page ideas egypt

The words Egypt 09 are made from ready made glittered scrapbook stickers, which are really effective and look great on any scrapbook page layouts. Scrapbook stickers come in all different fonts and colours and are very handy and easy to use.

scrapbooking supplies wooden letters

The word ‘art’ has also been made from the same glittered scrapbook stickers.

You may also want to include some journaling to provide more information about what is happening, names of people that were there and a general insight into what is going on in the photos. Try to stick to facts and keep it short so as not to lose the reader attention.

This scrapbooking page is of someone having fun so I have used vibrant exciting colours to make it stand out and look stimulating. Using dull or washed out colours here would simply take away the feel of the day which is clearly about having fun!

When creating your Scrapbooking ideas you should think carefully about which colours you are going to use and make sure you use vibrant coloured scrapbooking paper when the photos reflect exiting and fun occasions.

Pigs Scrapbook Page

This scrapbook page idea has been created using a number of craft materials from my paper craft supplies. It is a cheeky page showing little piglets bottoms!

pig-scrapbook-page.jpg

As you can see this scrapbook idea can easily be created using scraps from your paper craft supplies. It is also very cost effective because, despite its professional and eye catching look, the whole page has been made purely from paper without expensive scrapbook stickers or embellishments.

close-up-of-pigs-standing-by-a-fence.jpg

The photo has simply been mat and layered on scraps of pink and stripy coloured scrapbook paper. You could make the photo stand out even more by adding some 3D foam on one of the layers before you mount it.

You can also see that the date is on the picture. Scrapbook journaling is very important because in years to come you may not remember the month or even the year the picture was taken.

If you do not have a camera that prints the date onto your pictures you could write your scrapbook sayings in freehand, or use scrapbook stickers, rubons or peel offs.

scrapbook-paper.jpg

There is no rule to how you do this but I would suggest you cut your strips first then play around with different designs and layouts before permanently fixing the strips to the scrapbook page.

scrapbook-page-embelishments.jpg

The words have been cut from a sizzix side kick machine and the squares have been purely drawn and cut using a craft knife and metal ruler. Both the words and the squares have been randomly placed on the page.

One of the great things about doing this type of scrapbook layout is it uses very little of your paper craft supplies and secondly you can play around with the design until you are totally happy with it.

This simple design is great if you are new to scrapbooking, want to use up some of your stock or simply want to know how to make a photo album page look great with minimal effort or expense.
