This scrapbook page layout is of a little girl in a garden. If you say the word ‘garden’ you automatically think green because of the grass and plants that would be in a typical garden. (...)

This scrapbook page layout is of a little girl in a garden. If you say the word ‘garden’ you automatically think green because of the grass and plants that would be in a typical garden. So here a green background has been used for this scrapbooking page idea.

The base scrapbook paper is 12 x 12 in size.

The strip of paper which runs down the left hand edge of the scrapbook page has been cut from a separate scrapbook page and attached to the edge using double sided tape. The colours work well with the green as the stripes also have green in them so there is a synergy with the base colour.

The photo has been mounted on pink floral paper and the corners have been cut to slot and hold it in place. This is a great way of attaching your pictures to a scrapbook page without using adhesives or other materials that may damage a photograph. Furthermore it allows you to easily update your scrapbook page layout by replacing the photo with another.

A sticker has also been attached to the photo for added effect to make it look like it is holding the picture in place.

As with all scrapbook pages it is always a good idea to set the scene by adding some journaling or a scrapbook quote in this case the words ‘bloom where you are planted’ have been placed onto the page. The wording is a pre made scrapbook sticker, which you can purchase from any good craft store if you do not have any suitable scrapbook stickers in your craft supplies.

The letter K has been cut from matching scrapbook paper and is personal to the page because it is the first initial of the little girl. Some journaling has also been hand written onto the ‘K’ in order that the, date and place where the picture was taken can be remembered.

Scrapbook stickers have been placed down the edge of this scrapbooking page layout. Before applying these to the page a small amount of glitter has been applied to the scrapbook stickers to make them look a bit more glitzy, and luxurious. You can easily jazz up your paper, scrapbook stickers, photos, and other craft stock by simply adding in a small amount of glitter.

These stickers have been attached to the page using a strong acid and lignin free adhesive.

Another way of creating a different looking edge is to emboss. Embossing powders come in so many different colours you will have no problem finding a colour that matches your scrapbook page layouts.

This scrapbooking page idea is fun and quite girly. (...)

This scrapbooking page idea is fun and quite girly. Although the actual photograph is of a young girl enjoying food the papers and embellishments that have been used to create this scrapbook page idea are not food orientated. They do however suit the girl in the picture perfectly.

Many people associate the color pink with a girl so this mixture of pinks and browns is not only ideal for a page with a girl on it, but the browns make it more suitable for an older girl.

The photo, which is the focal point, has been placed in the centre of the scrapbook page layout. In this case it has been tucked behind a strip of scrapbook paper to make it appear to be holding the photograph in place.

The tags that have been placed in the corner of the scrapbook page have been cut from a sizzix machine. You can buy tags pre cut or use a template, but a sizzix machine will cut a perfect shape with ease and the edges will be neat and clean.

A small strip of matching scrapbook paper has been placed at the bottom of each of the tags so that it corresponds with the background paper. Some pink ribbon has also been placed through the hole that has been punched using a cropadile.

To attach the tags to the scrapbook page different colored nappy pins have been used, which gives the effect of the tags hanging. The nappy pins have been placed through the background paper.

You can use these tags to add additional wording and journaling including the date and place where the picture has been taken.

Metal embellishments are a great way of giving a scrapbook page layout additional texture other than the flat feeling of paper. Purple flower shape brads have been used to secure the metal embellishments to the page.

This circle embellishment has some wording that has been hand written in the centre. Some ribbon has been placed through directly through the embellishment and a flower brad has been used to hold it in place.

When creating any type of scrapbook page always ensure that any product you use is both acid and lignin free. Using products that are not could result in deterioration over a certain length of time. It really does not pay to cut costs on your scrapbook album, so make sure you are using the recommended sleeves to hold your papers in place to ensure they do not become damaged over time and are secure in the album.

Furthermore store your albums in a cool dry place away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Capturing memories of a child for your scrapbooking page ideas is a great way to preserve memories in a fun way.
This scrapbook page layout is of a young boy who is having fun in various ways. (...)

Capturing memories of a child for your scrapbooking page ideas is a great way to preserve memories in a fun way.

This scrapbook page layout is of a young boy who is having fun in various ways. The patterns and colours used in this scrapbook page not only work well for a boy but are also entertaining so they fit in with the over all theme.

The star has been cut using a star template which has been drawn onto a large piece of scrapbooking paper and cut out. The picture has been placed inside the star and secured in place using craft glue.

The picture has a white boarder around it so that it stands out slightly. If you do not have the ability to print your pictures in this way you can always mount it onto some white card first, and then cut it out so that it has a border.

The photo here has been placed behind the star and secured with glue. A scrapbook pen has been used to write some journaling around the edge of the star.

It is always important to use a scrapbook pen when journaling in your scrapbook pages, as using anything else may fade over time or even damage the paper.

The words ‘soap star superstar’ has been cut from a sizzix machine. The main advantage of using a sizzix machine to cut your letters is the pressure generated gives the letters a clean and crisp cut with no jagged edges, leaving your scrapbook page layout with a true professional look.

You can also use peel off scrapbook stickers or rub ons to put words or letters on a page.

This is just one of the many free scrapbooking layout ideas you can find on my scrapbooking website so feel free to take a look at some more.

The corner of this scrapbooking page layout is made up from the left over piece of star scrapbook paper. Cutting around the edge of the stars makes the paper appear to be part of the blue sheet that is underneath.

Again a scrapbook pen has been used to create a pattern that runs along the edge of the paper.

Using scrapbook quotes should an essential part of your scrapbooking page ideas. It not only sets the scene, but is a great way to describe the emotion or feeling being portrayed in a photograph. (...)

Using scrapbook quotes should an essential part of your scrapbooking page ideas. It not only sets the scene, but is a great way to describe the emotion or feeling being portrayed in a photograph.

In this instance the words ‘and then he said’ have been used because at the moment the picture was being take the little boy said something that the scrapbooker wanted to capture and remember, ‘Nanny, you’re rubbish at football’.

Because the photo on this scrapbook page is black and white, the background of the page is a plain teal colour which is not very dark. This ensures the photo is not lost in the background.

The paper used along the top of the page has another scrapbook quote on it which says, ‘FUN has u right in the middle of it’. This quote was already on this piece of paper however if you do not have it already printed you could always write it free hand or use rub ons or scrapbook stickers.

The piece of scrapbook paper that runs down the side of the page has a child theme of robots and is simply a strip of paper that has been cut from a 12 x 12 scrapbook sheet. Decorative edge scissors have been used to cut this strip to give it a fancy edge and it has been attached to the page using double sided tape.

The cogs have been drawn with a cog stencil and cut from peach colored card. Small orange circles have been put into the centre of the cogs and scrapbook stickers have been used to put the name into the middle of the cogs.

To make the cogs stand out they have bee attached to the scrapbooking page using 3D foam and a silver brad.

The Journaling has been done on a shop purchased scrapbook embellishment and has been hand written. It is always a good idea to add the date or place of where the photo was taken when doing your journaling as these bits of information are the things you may forget in years to come.

The brad in the centre of the cog is silver however you can easily change the colour by using peel off pens or embossing powders.

Scrapbooking page ideas should always try to catch the essence of the photo and involve the reader by having interesting scrapbook quotes and journaling which describes the scene or event.

This scrapbook page idea is really effective and looks really good even though it only consists of only two colors, green and black. (...)

This scrapbook page idea is really effective and looks really good even though it only consists of only two colors, green and black.

Sometimes using less really is more and this is definitely the case here. The reason green and black have been chosen is because the photographs are taken outside and show a lot of grass. Therefore the green works really well and the black stands out.

A special type of card has been used here, and it is called coredinations. It is a specialist card stock that changes color when you mark the surface. It is really versatile and can be used for so many different things including tearing it, sanding it, and embossing.

Each sheet has a tab underneath labeled ‘core color’ this will represent the interior color of the card. By sanding, or embossing the card you will bring the core color to the surface as shown in the above picture.

This scrapbooking page layout consists of two pieces of 12 x 12 coredinations card, the green being the base and the black has been ripped and then secured on top of the green down one side.

Incorporating coredinations card into your ideas for scrapbook pages is a little bit different and gives a really nice effect.

The photographs have been mounted onto the coredinations card which has been ripped around the edges to show the core color.

The embellishments on this scrapbooking page layout have been purchased from a craft store and then colored in by hand. You can use pens, pencils, paints, gel pens to color these embellishments in.

This embellishment also contains a scrapbook quote ‘snips and snails & puppy dog tails’ which is very fitting because the photographs are of a young boy playing in the garden.

This photo has been mounted onto a piece of bazzill card. Although in this case it has been mounted flat you may want to consider using 3D foam to raise the picture up.

Your ideas for scrapbook pages do not have to be overly complex or take forever to design in order to produce some very nice layouts.

Scrapbooking page ideas can be about anything and everything. Here is a scrapbooking page idea for half way through a pregnancy. (...)

Scrapbooking page ideas can be about anything and everything. Here is a scrapbooking page idea for half way through a pregnancy.

This scrapbook page layout is made from just one piece of 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper, and one piece of 8 x 8. It is, in actual fact cheap to make but looks really effective.

Sometimes, experimenting and doing something a little different such as folding the paper you can really make a scrapbook page look quite professional with very little added embellishments or cost.

The background is cream coloured bazzill bling card stock. I like this type of card because it has a texture to it and the bling range has an added shine to it.

Bazzill bling card stock is available from any good craft store or card stockist. It is relatively cheap in cost and makes a nice change for standard plain card stock. You will also be spoilt for choice when it comes to colours with this range.

The striped piece of scrapbooking paper has been stuck to the back of the card so that when the flaps have been cut and folded back the striped scrapbook paper can be seen.

I have secured these flaps in place with small gold brads and placed the photo behind it.

You may have some baby themed brads in your scrapbooking supplies that would look even better on this pregnancy scrapbook page.

A long strip of the stripy paper has then been cut and placed above the main picture so that embellishments can be added to it.

These scrapbooking embellishments have been purchased from a shop and are made from metal. The footprints are perfect for a baby scrapbook page. It is worth having a good look in your craft supplies to see if you have something similar that will also fit in with this theme.

If you have a baby footprint rubber stamp you could stamp and emboss the image several times, mat and layer it on corresponding paper or card before attaching it to the scrapbook page.

The tag has been made from the same striped paper and the information which has been taken from a pregnancy book has been placed on the front. I have used an eyelet to stop the paper from ripping where the ribbon has been threaded. In this instance I have used organza ribbon but any ribbon will work just as well.

Some of the stripes have been carefully cut from the 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper and placed in the corner of the card, which brings the whole scrapbook page together nicely.

Always store your scrapbook pages in a scrapbook purchased from a reputable retailer as it will be acid and lignin free and will therefore preserve your pages for years to come.

When creating a page layout of a boy or girl generally it is a good idea to stick with traditional shades of blue or pink for you scrapbooking ideas. (...)

When creating a page layout of a boy or girl generally it is a good idea to stick with traditional shades of blue or pink for you scrapbooking ideas. The colours will of course depend on the gender of the child. In this case, because the photos are of a boy the main colour used in this scrapbooking page is blue.

The corner of this scrapbook page idea has been created by tearing a sheet of patterned vellum paper. The vellum already has a baby theme on it so there was no need to add further embellishments to it. However if you use a plain sheet of vellum you can easily decorate it by using rubber stamps and stamping onto it, inking it, drawing with scrapbook pens, or even adding a few brads.

If you are inking onto vellum you will need to use a fast drying ink pad such as Stazon. Velum tends to soak up ink and lets it bleed into the paper. A fast drying ink will reduce this considerably living a crisper image.

Along the edge of the velum, eyelets have been placed so that ribbon can be passed though the holes. There are many devices available that can be used to set an eyelet including a cropadile, eyelet setters where you would need to use a hammer and ones where a weight is dropped onto the top of the setter.

As you can see in the picture, a length of blue ribbon has been passed through the eyelet holes and then tied into a bow at the end.

The photo has been placed behind a shop bought photo frame. In this instance the photo frame matches the velum that has been placed in the corner of the scrapbook page. Having the teddy bear in the corner really gives the page a child like theme.

The embellishments also match the photo frame as well as the corner of the scrapbook page. They have been cut from a sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper and have been attached to the scrapbooking layout using 3d foam pads.

This scrapbooking page idea contains very little in the way of embellishments and because it only contains one small photo it works really well and is very simple to create.

Your scrapbooking page ideas can of course contain some journaling to remind you of any significant dates or events. Journaling can be done in a variety of ways either freehand or using scrapbook stickers.

This scrapbooking page idea was actually created for a member of the family who was lucky enough to visit the Leaning tower of Pisa. (...)

This scrapbooking page idea was actually created for a member of the family who was lucky enough to visit the Leaning tower of Pisa.

I always find when creating a scrapbooking page layout for someone other than myself I never know what colors or designs to go for. It is hard to know exactly what other people’s styles are so I would always recommend you stick with just a few colors and try not to make the page too busy.

Starting with a 12 x 12 sheet of yellow styled paper meant that only a few scrapbooking embellishments would need to be used.

The focal point here is clearly the photos of the tower. The photograph has been mounted onto a darker yellow card and some journaling has been done around the edge of the picture.

Journaling is an essential aspect of scrapbooking because it gives the person who is looking at the scrapbook page layout information about where and when the picture was taken. It is also a great way for you to remember dates and thoughts in years to come.

When writing on any scrapbook pages always use pens that have been designed for the job, whispers ink pens are my favorite as they are not only great for writing but can be used in many other ways such as coloring, painting, inking stamps etc.

You can also purchase scrapbook pens that can be used for writing on the photo itself as well as any paper or card you are using.

The design has been scored so that the pictures can slide behind the pattern slightly, this has been done using a really sharp scalpel.

A stencil has been used to draw round the letters for the word ‘Pisa’ which has been cut from brown Bazzil Card . It is always nice to use a stencil as it gives the letters a more professional look. You can get word templates and stencils many different fonts.

Another idea is to print the wording from a computer and then cut the words out.

The words have been decorated with small flowers, these have been stamped using a very small flower stamp that has been inked with white ink.

To raise the letter from the scrapbook page slightly 3D foam pads have been used to position them.

The month has also been added to the bottom of the page as a reminder of when the photos have been taken. Again, a scrapbook pen has been used however peel off scrapbook stickers would work just as well here.

Your scrapbooking layout ideas depicting famous landmarks are not only interesting for you to remember but also have great value to anyone with an interest in the place you are visiting so try to add some interesting journaling accordingly.

I always find that thinking up new and exciting Christmas scrapooking layout ideas are probably some of the easiest to produce. (...)

I always find that thinking up new and exciting Christmas scrapooking layout ideas are probably some of the easiest to produce. This is mainly due to the fact that you are bound to have plenty of photos to choose from as everyone is camera happy around this festive period.

Make sure you ask your family and friends to show you the photos they took if they came to visit. If you are anything like me you will probably be the one taking all the photos and therefore, not in any! Asking to see other peoples will mean that you are more likely to find a photo of your family with you actually in it.

This Christmas scrapbook page layout has been created using a sheet of 12 x12 pink poka dot scrapbook paper. You may decide that red is more traditional but these days more and more people are using different, brighter and more varied colours than the traditional red, green, gold and silver themes.

The little gingerbread men have been cut from a separate piece of scrapbooking paper and placed randomly along the bottom using craft glue.

The word Xmas has been drawn onto sparkly white paper using a word template to make the words neat and tidy. Always use really sharp scissors from your scrapbooking supplies when cutting any paper so that the edges are crisp and clean. You can attach this letter using double sided tape or any strong glue you may have as long as it isn’t too runny as this could squirt out the sides when you press the letter down.

The photo has been mounted onto stripy Christmas paper. By mounting the photo off centre you will see more of the stripy paper behind. If you do not have paper that already has the word ‘Santa’ on it you could always write this free hand of have a rummage in your craft supplies and dig out all those Christmas stamps you have laying around. Alternatively you can use scrapbook stickers.

The gingerbread man here is a pre made scrapbooking embellishment. These can be so easy to make yourself and also much more cost effective. I would always use 3D foam when attaching these types of embellishments to your scrapbook pages to make them stand out and give the scrapbooking layout more depth.

Baubles are very traditional around this festive season so including them in your scrapbooking layout ideas is a must. These baubles have been cut using a sizzix machine die cutter however you could easily find a template and use that to draw around to create the same or similar effect. The string that the baubles are hanging from is actually a peel off sticker.

A really good idea is to save your Christmas cards and use bits and pieces from the front of the cards to decorate your Christmas scrapbooking layout ideas.

Most people describe the feeling when a baby first starts moving as a bubbly sensation hence this scrapbooking page ideas bubble theme. (...)

Most people describe the feeling when a baby first starts moving as a bubbly sensation hence this scrapbooking page ideas bubble theme.

The scan photo is obviously the focal point of the scrapbook page and is prominent because it is a dark colour which is set on a lighter background.

The wording has been drawn from a stencil and cut using sharp scissors. The words have them been mounted onto yellow card.

To create the sparkly edge around the words I used a glue pen and some stardust powder. You could also use glitter or glitter glue but always make sure it is properly dry before fixing it to the actual page.

I used 3D foam to attach the wording to the scrapbooking page layout to emphasise it even more.

The main photo has been mounted onto white card to give it a solid border and placed behind some of the bubbles on the page.

To make the bubbles coordinate with the wording above, I also added a touch of the stardust powder to the edges.

Some of the information from the scan such as the size of the baby and estimated due date have also been placed inside one of the bubbles. You should always have some sort of journaling in your scrapbooking page ideas to depict what is happening in the photos.

A length of organza ribbon has been placed down one side of the page to hang the tag on.

Organza is a thin, plain weave, sheer fabric traditionally made from silk. It is perfect for scrapbooking as it comes in a wide range of colours and widths.

The tag that has been cut using a sizzix machine. It also has stardust powder around the edge of it to correlate with the wording, and the bubbles. Information about the third month of pregnancy has also been placed on the front of the card.

A sun eyelet has been used where the ribbon has been passed through. The sun works well with the yellow background of this particular scrapbook page.

Although this scrapbooking page layout does not have many embellishments on it, in this case it is sufficient as sometimes less is more.

Because the gender of the baby is not known it is best to stick with pastel colours that are non specific. If however, you do know the gender of your baby you can decorate the scrapbooking page with traditional coloured scrapbooking embellishments associated with either a boy or girl such as blue or pink.
