This scrapbook page idea really makes me feel hungry! It is fun and cost practically nothing to make.

The main photo is of my son enjoying his favourite treat. A meatball sub, from subway. Just before anyone thinks he gets to go to Subway all the time let me tell you he doesn’t and he always gets his five a day fruit and veg portions. Sorry just had to say that

I also printed off some photos of a close up of a meatball subway and the subway logo.

I found a subway voucher book that I thought might be really handy to use for this scrapbook layout. This scrapbook page idea uses very little from your craft supplies so is really cheap and easy to make.

After printing off the pictures I then went through the voucher book and cut out all the little images of all the different subway sandwiches.

You will then need to find a strip of dark green card and cut it to the length of a 12×12 scrapbook paper. The width of the paper should be three or four inches depending on our wide you want your margin to be and how many embellishments you want to put in the margin.

Use decorative scissors to cut a decorative edge up each side of the card. If you do not have this type of scissors in your craft supplies then you could always cut a wavy line with normal scissors or use a punch to make the edges a bit different.

Use a pritt stick to attach all the little pictures onto the dark green card. Before you stick them down play around with the pictures to make sure you don’t end up sticking them in the wrong places.

Place the decorated strip of dark green card onto your 12×12 scrapbook paper. Here I have used a white card as the base. I used double sided tape to hold the green card in place.

Place your photo in the top right hand corner again using double sided tape. I did not mat and layer the photo but this is something you might want to consider if you are using a patterned sheet of scrapbook paper as the base.

I then placed the logo for subway at an angle across the top of the photo. You can use 3D foam to make it stand out slightly.

It is always a good idea to add journaling to your scrapbook pages so here I have printed off some wording to go on the scrapbook layout. You can print your wording in a few different sizes and colours to see which one works best.

I mat and layered the wording onto dark green card to match my margin and placed it underneath the picture using double sided tape.

We all make scrapbook pages of our holidays, weddings and other special events but sometimes it is the simple things that get missed and forgot over time.

With the above in mind, whenever you go out, and even if it is just to a sandwich bar, always have your radar switched on for things that will make great scrapbook page ideas. Simple things that you may do with your family every day, or once a week now, you may not be doing in ten, twenty or fifty years time, so how nice it will be to remember those simple things in years to come even if they don’t seem out of the ordinary at the moment.

Many of your ideas for scrapbook page layouts will be based around outdoor themes as the memories you will want to cherish and put in a scrapbook album will be from your holidays and days out. (...)

Many of your ideas for scrapbook page layouts will be based around outdoor themes as the memories you will want to cherish and put in a scrapbook album will be from your holidays and days out.

This scrapbook page is based on an outdoor theme

I selected two sheets of 12×12 scrapbook paper. One of which is black and the other is an image of grass.

These colours work really well because the photo is of a couple that are standing in a grassy area.

The first thing I did was to tear the grass sheet of scrapbook paper down the middle exposing a white torn edge.

To change the colour of the white torn edge that was showing I used a green distress inkpad which you can get from any scrapbook shop or online, to ink along the edge of the scrapbook paper.

Next I used a soft piece of sponge and dapped the ink onto the sponge, and then dabbed the sponge all over the white edge that is showing on the torn sheet scrapbook paper

This method makes the ink appear light and dappled giving you a more natural look, rather than totally covering the white paper.

I then placed the torn paper on top of the black 12×12 sheet of scrapbook paper and secured it using double sided tape.

I then chose the photo I wanted to use for this scrapbooking idea which would be the focal point of the scrapbook page. It is up to you how many photos you use on your own scrapbook page but I generally find any more than two, or three at the most, can start to look a bit too cluttered and detracts from any embellishments you have on your layout.

I mounted this photo onto plain green card using double sided tape and cut it so that it left a small border.

Using the left over grass paper place the bordered photo onto it and cut the grass scrapbook paper to frame the photo.

The photo that has been mat and layered was then placed in the top corner of the scrapbook page layout using double sided tape.

I then printed out some words that are related to the event. The day was of a family playing cricket and kayaking by a local river.

I used a metal ruler and scalpel to cut these words out.

I mounted all the words onto the same grass scrapbook paper as previously used.

I then mounted the words onto two layers of card.

The words were randomly placed on the scrapbooking page and attached using double sided tape.

I then made a name plate using a sizzix machine from the grass scrapbook paper.

I then placed some journaling inside the nameplate.

I attached this to the scrapbook page using black brads.

Brads come is so many designs you will probably be able to find brads that will coordinate better with your layout.

Once the lettering and journaling is attached this scrapbooking page idea is complete and ready to be added to your scrapbook album.

Creating a scrapbook page layout of a family day is a lovely way to record memories and something all the family will enjoy looking at. You can even involve your children to help you make the page. (...)

Creating a scrapbook page layout of a family day is a lovely way to record memories and something all the family will enjoy looking at. You can even involve your children to help you make the page.

I particularly like the colours on this page as they are natural browns which tie in nicely for the theme of a day out paddling along a river.

I started this scrapbooking page by digging out this piece of family scrapbook paper. It consists or words and scrapbook quotes all to do with families. The photos that I intended to use were of a family day out so I felt the earthy colours would work well.

I drew two lines down the left hand side of the scrapbook paper as a guide to where I would then place some ribbon

I placed really strong double sided tape along both of the lines.

I then found some brown organza ribbon in my scrapbook supplies and placed this on the strong double sided tape to secure it in place.

I then found some brown card and cut a strip slightly smaller than the space between the two strips of ribbon.

I placed this strip of card down the middle gap using strong double sided tape.

I then had a look through all the pictures from the day and selected three that I wanted to use.

I mat and layered the biggest one onto green bazzill bling cardstock.

I used a fiskars circle cutter to cut one of the pictures into a circle.

I then used some green card and a bigger fiskars cutter to cut a bigger circle to mount the photo onto.

The last picture was cut with a fancy edge. Again I used a fiskars cutter to do this

If you do not have fiskars cutter then decorative scissors would work just as well.

I mounted the photo onto the same brown card that I used for the strip down the left hand side of the scrapbooking page.

I decided I wanted to place some journaling onto the scrapbook page so I typed this on the computer and printed it in a fancy font to make it look a little prettier.

The wording was then mat and layered onto two different papers to give it a boarder.

I then juggled the photos around to see what layout looked better. Once I decided where the photos and the wording would go I secured it in place with double sided tape. This scrapbook page layout was now starting to take shape.

To give the page layout some embellishments I found some buttons in my scrapbook supplies that I wanted to use so I cut the loops off the back with a pair of pliers so they didn’t protrude too much.

I placed the buttons on the strip of brown card underneath the circular picture.

I then found some prima flowers in my scrapbook supplies. I placed a brad through the centre as this would also help secure it to the scrapbook page.

I placed the flower in the top right hand corner of the scrapbook paper.

This scrapbook page whilst looking quite plain did take some time to make, but it was well worth it in the end.

This baby scrapbook page is really simple and subtle. It is made up using really soft pastel colours which would suit either sex of a child. The photos are of a nursery. It is always nice to look back in years to come and remember what your child’s first room looked like.

The wording on this scrapbook layout has been drawn from a stencil onto some scrapbook paper. Any spare matching scrapbook paper will do that you have in your scrapbook supplies. You will need to attach the letters using a small amount of glue. If you put too much glue on it will splurge out as you press the letters down to stick to the page so make sure you use the glue sparingly.

Because the background paper is very pale in colour take care not to use a paper for your scrapbook wording that will be lost because it is not bold or contrasting enough to stand out. A good idea is to lay the wording out on the page to see what it looks like and if it is too big, or too small, before applying any adhesive.

The picture of the sheep and the duck has been matt and layered onto white card and then onto the same scrapbook paper that was used for the ‘Month Seven’ scrapbook wording.

A strip of multi coloured ribbon has been placed behind the picture and a small brad has also been added. The picture has been attached to the scrapbook page using 3D foam.

A tag is a great way of adding information to a scrapbook page layout. The information has been taken from a pregnancy book letting the reader know what is happening at this stage of the pregnancy. You could always add your own personal information here including any movement you might be feeling, how big your bump is and how you feel emotionally as the day is getting closer.

The same strip of ribbon has been placed across the tag giving the appearance that it is holding it in place.

This tag has some spots on it and as you can see the spots have been used to hold the information in place.

The tag has a snowflake brad placed through the top of it and a ribbon has been passed through the brad. The same ribbon has been used here that has been used throughout the scrapbook page layout.

The photos have been matt and layered onto bazzill card stock and attached to the scrapbook page using 3D foam so that they stand out slightly.

This is an example of a very easy baby scrapbook layout with just two photos and some journaling.

With amazing 3D scan technology these days many people have the option to know the sex of their child before he or she is born. (...)

With amazing 3D scan technology these days many people have the option to know the sex of their child before he or she is born. In this case the baby is a girl so this baby scrapbooking page had been created with a pink theme.

The most important and the focal point of this scrapbooking page layout are of course the incredible scan photographs. These have been mounted on a pink bazzill cardstock. The frame the photos are mounted onto has been cut around the edge using decorative scissors to give it a fancy edge.

he background scrapbook paper is a pink fluffy towel with some stitching down one edge.

It is always nice to have some wording or information on your scrapbooking page. Here I have used an excerpt from a baby book which explains what is happening during this month of pregnancy. If you do not have this information to hand you can easily print this off via the internet. Alternatively you could simply handwrite your emotions and thoughts at this stage of your pregnancy.

A small incision has been made in the strip that is down the edge of the scrapbook page so that the tag can be tucked behind to hold it in place.

The tag its self has been jazzed up using an eyelet, some peel off scrapbook stickers and baby themed ribbon that has been passed through the eyelet.

Small baby themed peel off scrapbook stickers are a lovely addition and can really make the tag fit the theme of your layout.

To save time pre made embellishments have been placed down the edge of the scrapbook paper. It is always worth having a look through your craft supplies to see if there is baby themed embellishments that you can use or even better to make your own.

The embellishments I have used are of course pink in colour as the sex of the baby is already known. If you do not know the sex then yellows, greens, creams and lilacs are a good choice of colour to use.

The wording ‘month eight’ at the top of the page has been cut from pink bazzill card using a stencil. I used a glue pen to adhere the letters to the page as a glue pen is easy to control. Anything else could cause a mess if too much glue is used.

To ensure the lettering is straight I used a ruler to draw a guide line which I later rubbed out once the letters had been stuck down.

You should now be left with a beautiful baby scrapbook page to add to your precious memories of being pregnant. You can go on to add more embellishments and any memorabilia of the time in question to further personalise your scrapbooking page.

This baby scrapbook page layout is based on month five of a pregnancy. (...)

This baby scrapbook page layout is based on month five of a pregnancy. Keeping a log of all the pictures and feelings you experience during your pregnancy is something that you can always have to remember.

Because the scan picture is relatively small you may want to consider having it enlarged. However, you may also find this distorts the picture itself and the baby becomes unidentifiable.

With this scrapbook page layout I decided to leave the photograph as it was and add more embellishments and information to fill in the space.

I began with two pieces of 12×12 scrapbook card. Cream bazzill card, and yellow card with flowers on. I used the cream card as the background and tore the patterned paper in half before attaching it to the cream card using sticky dots.

The photo has been mounted onto a pale blue piece of card that has a scalloped edge. You can create this edge yourself using scalloped edged scissors or by drawing around a scalloped edge template and cutting it out using normal scissors.

The words ‘month five’ have been drawn using a stencil and cut out of the same pale blue card are the photo. The words have been placed on the cream side of the scrapbook page layout so that they do not get lost in the patten.

I used a glue pen to stick the letters down as this enabled me to be more precise and get less glue everywhere!.

The tag has information about what is going on at this stage of pregnancy. It is always nice to look back and be reminded of how you felt and what was going on at this time so you can also add some scrapbook quotes or your own journaling here.

The information has been cut from a baby book then mounted onto the same yellow patterned card that was used at the beginning, and also the same blue that was used to mount the picture on. Using the same bits of paper not only helps to make the page correspond but it is a great way to use up all your scraps!

The tag has been tucked behind the yellow patterned paper.

The baby’s cot was a shop purchased embellishment. If you are clever enough you may be able to make and design your own however if you shop around you can find bits and pieces like this from good scrapbook stores at relatively low costs. Pre made embellishments are great for saving time and making a quick scrapbook page layout.

The word baby is a pre made die cut. Again if you have the right tools this is something that is quite achievable with your own hand.

It is always nice to add a bit of ribbon to your scrapbooking ideas and this stripy pastel colored ribbon is perfect for a baby scrapbook page. I have also placed some brads along the ribbon to not only hold the ribbon in place but to make it even more effective.

This baby scrapbook page is very simple and cheap to make.

This scrapbook ideas page only consists of two 12×12 scrapbook pages, some scrap paper, ribbon and a few brads. (...)

This scrapbook ideas page only consists of two 12×12 scrapbook pages, some scrap paper, ribbon and a few brads. It is probably one of the most simple scrapbook layout ideas I have created in a long time.

The page was created using the pink 12×12 scrapbook paper as the background, and a second sheet was then torn and placed over the top, at the bottom of the scrapbook page.

The photos on this scrapbooking layout have not been mounted or changed in any way, and they have simply been stuck to the page at various angles using double sided tape.

Before the second sheet of paper was stuck down I made some tags out of scraps of paper that matched what had already been used. These tags were cut from a sizzix die cutting machine.

Small eyelets have been placed in the top corners of the tags to ensure that the ribbon does not tear through the holes. The ribbon and fibres used are scraps from my scrapbooking supplies. They have been selected because the colours work really well with the background papers.

Once the tags have been tucked in place I used sticky dots to secure the second sheet of scrapbook paper in place.

Because the bottom section of this scrapbook layout looked a little bare I then placed some of the fibres randomly onto the page. To hold it in place I made small slits in the scrapbook paper, passed the fibres through the slits at each end, and tied them together on the other side of the scrapbook paper.

The scrapbook quotes used on this particular scrapbook layout have been purchased from a craft shop. You will probably find you have hundreds of these laying around in your scrapbooking supplies, so dig deep and see what you can find before going and spending your hard earned cash. If there is nothing there that is related to the photos you are using then you can always make your own by using peel off stickers or even printing them yourself.

To finish off the page a small piece of ribbon has been passed through some slits that have been made using a scalpel and a brad has been placed at the end.

To anyone that is new to scrapbooking and creating scrapbook page layouts always remember that any paper or product you use need to be acid and lignin free. This will maximise the quality and also make all your scrapbook pages last much longer without causing deterioration in years to come.

When you are looking for cheap and cheerful ideas for scrapbook pages always make sure you look at what you have in your scrapbooking supplies first as you will be amazed at what you accumulate through the years.

Baby photographs are probably one of the most common photos used to create scrapbook ideas. This scrapbook page layout is really simple to make and uses very little from your craft supplies. When it comes to baby scrapbook pages I prefer generally to stick to pastel colours.

For this layout I used a 12 x 12 sheet of tartan paper that has shades of green and blue. Perfect for a little baby boy.

The photo has been positioned behind a scalloped edged frame that has been made from very similar scrapbook paper as the background. It is a yellow tartan paper and the photo has been framed using a gold peel off scrapbook sticker to make the edge of the picture more prominent. A small baby bootie embellishment has also been attached to the frame in the bottom right hand corner using a very strong glue dot.

Placing a peel off sticker around the edge of the photo can make a real difference to the overall page layout. These scrapbook stickers come in so many designs you can adapt the pattern to fit in with the theme and style of your scrapbook page.

The embellishments that have been placed in the corners of the photos have been purchased from a craft store however; you could use buttons, stickers or even make your own embellishments using fimo.

The framed pictures have been attached to the scrapbook page using 3D foam so that it doesn’t look too flat on the scrapbook page.

A small epoxy sticker has been placed onto the page with the child’s name on it. If you do not have these in your craft supplies then you can easily pick these up from your local craft store.

It is always nice to have the date of birth of the child when creating a baby scrapbook page. The date here has been has been hand written onto a piece of the same paper as that used to frame the pictures. Two little duck epoxy stickers have been placed at either end of the wording to tie it in with the rest of the scrapbook page.

Some vellum scrapbook quotes have also been added to the scrapbook layout using a special vellum tape that is transparent so cannot be seen. Inking around the edge as done here, will make the torn edges more prominent.

A nappy pin brad has also been added. Brads are fantastic for decorating a scrapbook page and they come is so many different designs, colours, shapes and sizes, you are never stuck for a brad to fit in with the theme of your page.

I love thinking up simple scrapbook layout ideas that contain photographs of memories I have had with my family and friends. (...)

I love thinking up simple scrapbook layout ideas that contain photographs of memories I have had with my family and friends. However sometimes it does make a nice change to create a few simple scrapbook layout ideas using floral or animal photographs.

These day most of us will have a camera in our hand bags, or at least on our mobile phones, so next time your out and about try and take a few snaps that do not include people.

As you can see, this scrapbook page idea is all about butterflies and flowers. Despite the page looking extremely filled and busy it actually contains very few scrapbook embellishments and accessories and is extremely simple scrapbook page to make.

The background is 12×12 orange bazzill card stock. The four photographs have been placed in each corner of the scrapbooking page using double sided tape.

These days there is easy access to reprint pictures, and therefore permanently sticking them to the page is not so much of a problem. However if you did want to re use your photos, you should use a non permanent tape such as vellum tape which will hold the photos in place. Using Vellum tape whilst holding your photos in place also allows you to remove your photos if you later want to use them elsewhere, update the page or simply reposition them on the page, by simple rubbing the tape off the back of the photo.

The butterfly and flower that have been placed in the centre of the page are blown up images that have been cut out and attached to the page using 3D foam. This makes them stand out from the other photographs.

The journaling on this simple scrapbook page layout has been placed in the centre of the page in between the photographs and either side of the 3D butterfly.

The journaling consists of information about where and when the photographs were taken. It is always nice to add in some personal thoughts about how you felt when the photographs were taken, as this can really set the mood of the scrapbook page.

The small purple flowers have simply been created using a small punch and purple card.

Several of these flowers have been punched out and randomly placed all along the bottom of the scrapbook page. An acid free pen was then used to draw around the flower and a different pen was used to colour it in.

If you are struggling to come up with simple scrapbook layout ideas then please feel free to browse the rest of my site where you will find many simple scrapbook layout ideas together with more complex and detailed pages if you have more time and feel more adventurous.

Trying to find cheap scrapbook supplies is not always simple and it is easy to get carried away when you start shopping and end up spending far too much than you budgeted for. (...)

Trying to find cheap scrapbook supplies is not always simple and it is easy to get carried away when you start shopping and end up spending far too much than you budgeted for.

This scrapbook page layout consists of mainly paper making it a really cheap scrapbook page to create.

Select a piece of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper to use for the base of your design. Here I have selected a pinkish red sheet of paper because the two people on the front of the scrapbook are women.

A second sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper then needs to be selected from your craft supplies, and if possible make sure it contains a small shade of the colour you are using for the base of the design.

You are going to be using the second piece of scrapbook paper to create a strip that will run down one side of the scrapbook page. Cut off a strip of paper which measures approximately 6 -7cm in width.

Use decorative scissors to create a fancy edge along the scrapbook paper.

Mark out some lines where you will make incisions. You are going to pass some ribbon though these incisions, so the lines need to be the width of the piece of ribbon you have selected to use.

Use a scalpel and metal edge ruler to make the incisions in the paper.

Once all the incisions have been made you can then begin to thread the ribbon through the holes you have just made.

To tie in the base piece of scrapbook paper I have used pink ribbon. You can use any colour that works well with your chosen papers.

Use double sided tape to attach the ribbon threaded paper to the main scrapbook page.

Follow the same procedure using a different pair of decorative scissors and if possible a different shade of paper and ribbon.

Place the new piece of paper with the ribbon along the opposite edge of the scrapbook page using double sided tape or any non runny glue.

You are then ready to mount the picture using the scraps of paper you have left over to create the frame.

Place the photo on top of the frame using double sided tape. This is me with my mother in law by the way.

You then need to add some journaling or a scrapbook quote. Here I have selected a scrapbook quote that is on vellum paper and reads ‘Thank you for touching my life’

Place some funky brads in each of the corners of the scrapbook quotes. The brads will also be used to attach it to the main scrapbook page.

It is always nice to add a date so that you can remember when the photo was taken. Here I have used a scalloped pre cut tag.

Place an eyelet through the hole at the top to ensure the card does not tear and use scrapbook stickers to add the date.

Along the top of the scrapbook page place strips of paper or ribbon passing one through the hole in the tag so that it appears to be hanging.

Place the photo and the scrapbook quote onto the main page and your done. Simple, and easy and a great way to make use of your cheap scrapbook supplies.
